EAPS - A European Reality

: EAPS unites the networks of independent national card schemes, acquirers and payment institutions throughout Europe to create a single European payment framework.

: EAPS gives SEPA-compliant card schemes, acquirers and payment institutions throughout Europe the opportunity to increase profits through greater transaction flows, with minimal investment.

: Together, EAPS participants represent more than 222 million cards, 2.2 million POS terminals and almost 200,000 ATMS. In 2011, EAPS accounted for more than 3 million transactions.

EAPS sets MIF to 0.2%

EAPS has established a default cross-border point of sales interchange fee of 0.2 percent applicable as of 1 April 2012.

3.5m transactions in 2011

EAPS had 3.5 million cross border transactions in 2011. The number increased by more than 55% compared to the previous year.
